Of sea and sky 

my day is full,

of winds that whisper

indelible thoughts.

Reflections of June

break up the waves,

a dream glides 

on the lonely beach,

a white sheet

drying in the sun.

Love, 

you play with time

like a marble 

of coloured glass

slipping into the surf.

Having you

as now my eyes

watch the horizon.

And that peace, 

distant silence,

that defies imagination,

runs on a sparkling thread

from one pole to the other.

At times it trembles,

disappears and then re-emerges,

so uncertain and deep

it delineates 

the boundary 

of visible things.

Di mare e di cielo 

è pieno il mio giorno,

di venti che sussurrano

pensieri indelebili.

Riflessi di giugno

scompongono le onde,

un sogno scivola 

sulla spiaggia solitaria,

un foglio bianco

che si asciuga al Sole.

Amore, 

tu giochi col tempo

come fosse una biglia 

di vetro colorato,

che scivola verso la risacca.

Averti,

come adesso i miei occhi

osservano l'orizzonte.

E quella pace, 

lontano silenzio,

che sfida l'immaginazione,

corre su un filo scintillante

da un polo all'altro.

A tratti trema,

scompare e poi riemerge,

così incerto e profondo

si delinea 

il confine 

delle cose visibili.

Poetry for my nights - Poesia per le mie notti

 And it does not matter

if your words

will remain still

on the lonely beach

of your being,

like shells in the sun.

I will pick them up

walking in the silence

of the calm waves

chasing each other.

Beside my bed,

they will be poetry

for my nights

and for the days to come.

rimarranno ferme

sulla spiaggia solitaria

del tue essere,

come conchiglie al sole.

Le raccoglierò,

passeggiando nel silenzio

delle onde calme

che si inseguono.
